"[...]all Iranian rice recipes seem written to feed a large family of very hungry people..."
Oh, this made me laugh out loud and hard. So spot on.

When I was 20, I wished I could write like Hunter Thompson. Now I wish I could write like Bill Bryson.

Bunny42:
Frazz is my favorite current comic. When I discovered it a year or so ago, I immediately went back to the beginning and read every strip. Calvin and Hobbes is my all-time favorite comic. Don't you agree Frazz could have been drawn by Watterson? And Caulfield cracks me up.
As for home runs, I can't agree it spoiled the game. I find home runs exciting. Hitting that one infinitesimal spot on a round ball with a round bat with the right angle and amount of power is quite an accomplishment. Parks would have to be immense not to be able to hit the ball out, say, into McCovey Cove.
That said, my preferred games are pitching duels, with very low scores and lots of strategy. People who find baseball boring mystify me. There's so much going on, if one is willing to study the game.
