Medley:

"Another lesson you must learn to live in New England: It is always better to have low expectations, since around here high expectations tend to be set so high as to be impossible."

And here you have diagnosed the root of nearly all of my pathologies (which are too many to enumerate but include unremitting self-loathing and constantly frustrated idealism...) Now I know. I can blame all those formative bleak winters, henceforth!

Bunny42:

Boy, I'm glad you're here today. LiveJournal has sustained yet another DDoS attack. Puts a huge hole in my morning reading activities. It would seem to be time for me to get a life.

As for the Sox tanking, it's all a question of money and who's willing to pay more of it, Sox or Bombers. My beloved Marlins proved twice that the little guys can indeed win sometimes, but that's an aberration. As the fans like to say, though, it's early yet.

Hey, Bunny, enjoy Javy Vasquez!

Bunny42:

Indeed I shall. So far, it seems the bullpen is pretty strong. Not delighted with the rotation, but it IS early. I'm still smarting from the Uggla trade. Atlanta, yet! Our arch-rivals! New stadium next spring, though. Hope springs eternal. (See what I did there?)

Jette:

"Before we beat the curse, we always failed miserably, and it was good; everyone knew where they stood, the universe was orderly and well-kept."

Kind of how I feel about the Saints, despite my general football apathy.
