Maybe it's just from living in advertising-saturated LA, but the part at the end made me think of some sort of viral campaign involving some new form of skywriting. I know, it's meant to be something more vague and sinister than that. But we have the sides of entire skyscrapers given over to ads here, and Blade Runner-style video billboards all over, so colorful letters in the sky aren't that much of a stretch.
