What's What (Welcome New Readers!)
This is my web site. It is a journal, and also a repository for all my various other words. The list of most recent journal entries is at the top so that people who come here a lot don't have to scroll past all this every time.
Most activity on this site is in my personal journal/essay/ranting area. You're at the top page of that area, so presumably you found it. I update on an irregular schedule, but if I go a fortnight without a new entry here, you are entitled to poke me to see if I'm dead.
To access
entries or leave comments, you'll need a login. These are free for the asking. Ask for one here. I may take a while to grant them because I have to do it manually and I tend to put it off.
New fiction happens extremely seldom and is generally posted in the Works area.
Most of the individual non-fiction projects either are very stale or have not yet been fully reposted to the site, or both, but they're still tasty. Try the left-hand sidebar.
Keeping Track
Unfortunately my server does not like my sending outgoing mail notifications. All automatic mail from this site is disabled.
I post notification of new entries by hand at my Twitter feed.
You can subscribe to a LiveJournal feed columbina_rss which posts a notification, once only, when I create any page on this site with the category "RSS." Or you can try to roll your own feed URL here. I realize that you can't show comment activity this way, and I apologize for the limitation.
Other Places
I post anywhere from one to twenty items a day on Twitter. Almost all my short linkage and any thoughts that seem too brief for entries go there.
I post photos erratically on Flickr. You need to be a friend of mine there to see pictures of certain things. Send me a request there if you're interested.
Misc
This link is so I can edit the "latest pages" insert easily. If you are not me, ignore it.
Big fiction is over in the Works area, as noted, but I have all sort of little things in my journal which I am noting here as I find and/or relink them. This is probably a better way to get at them than Category:Fiction, which also picks up me talking about the business/practice of writing fiction.

This symbol means you have to be logged in to read the entry.
This symbol means the entry is (in retrospect) a favorite of mine.

Old Archives (The Excavation)
Ever so slowly dusting off history. As with archaeology, the oldest material is at the bottom.
