Truer words

It finally snowed today, after three hundred plus (record-setting) days without. All day long. As if making up for lost time.

I began cleaning out my email. If I owe you a reply, I haven't forgotten you.

On the taped episode of Batman Beyond we watched tonight (don't laugh, it's a well-written show):

Commissioner (Barbara) Gordon: "You're out of your mind!"

Evil Villain: "Duh!"

I've been waiting for years for that to happen.

The Herald is not a paper I generally care to read, but they do have a lot more audacity with headlines. I respect that. Our lieutenant governor, Jane Swift, is caught up in mini-scandals about abuse of office (mostly asking her aides to provide impromptu child care), and yesterday she made her public mea culpas. Herald headline this morning:

Jane Erred

I always love Ozy and Millie, but this one was especially germane. I wrote Rain saying, "Hey, it seemed like the obvious solution to me ...."

Truer words have never been spoken:

On Martha Stewart Living this morning, Martha is learning to drive a carriage, and her teacher just noted that she brought her own buggy whip.

The idea that Martha Stewart owns an eight foot long whip for her own personal use comes as no surprise to almost anybody.

And speaking of true words:

Bruno: "I wonder if I'll ever appreciate the 'now.' I mean, I love creating, but I never enjoy completion. But it makes sense that an artist needs to be like that, to accomplish anything."

Sara: "Maybe that's why historically artists are such bingers. The need for the 'now' to force itself out sporadically."

Bruno: "Maybe that's why historically artists are such assholes."
