I have preserved the original alt-text for the two images below because it amuses me, and as a historical artifact.

Contact Sheets

You need a graphic browser for this entry, Shmuel.
(Yeah, I probably have other readers who use Lynx, but Shmuel is the first one who comes to mind.)

I have been reluctant to show you some of the proofs from the first photo session. Not because they're bad - I love them - but because I am worried that my representation of them here will not do the photographer justice.

To begin with, he's said several times that this was a practice session, a warmup. Also, these are from contact sheets - quick proofs so you can decide what to really print. In case you're utterly photo-jargon-free, they're made by placing the film directly on photographic paper and exposing the paper. (Hence "contact.") The images on the contact sheet are therefore exactly the same size as the film image itself, about 2 inches square in this case. I've actually enlarged them here. They weren't meant for this purpose, but I think they're lovely anyway. The ASA 25 film Graham was using (which he considers medium-slow and I consider REALLY slow) has such a fine grain that you can blow these up to the size of wallpaper and they still look good.

So, apologies to Graham, here are some samples. Today is our second session - I'm on the edge of my seat.
