A few photos

I am Inu. This web site really belongs to me; I just make Columbine do all the work for me and reward her with a meager amount of space to fill with these pointless remarks.

Columbine has asked me to introduce the photos below, because some of them are of her and she doesn't like to talk about her appearance. (Ha!) She says to remind you that the previous entry, just posted, has lots of good words (Hmph. By her standards) and that you should go there if you don't like pictures.

Myself, I think you've already seen the best picture on this page, so I wouldn't blame you if you were to -

Oh my goodness, is that a pencil? Must. Grab it. Immediately!

Ahem. Well. This is Columbine again. I guess Inu backed out on the job. Now she's running around in circles, chasing dust mites.

Anyway, without further ado, here's what I wore for Hallowe'en. This is actually two pictures spliced together - I'm too tall for the fixed lens I use indoors at this range.

I was quite pleased with the outfit. I was less pleased with the way that my face looked in some of these photos. I think I like my face better at my eye level. From everybody else's eye level it looks strange. Or maybe just unfamiliar.

I'll probably scan some of the trashier headshots some other day, though - Nonelvis says they look very Warhol, which I think was meant to be a compliment.

Here's one that was taken after the party in the course of makeup removal. You can't see my face, of course, but I like the effect anyway.

I also got the Colorado photos back today. I have to tell you, these disposable cameras are better than I expected at some tasks - but they have a very narrow range. I never have gotten such bad results indoors from 800-speed film. Why, those pictures of Inu above were taken casually with 800-speed film in the Pentax, in an average-lit room, with no flash. 800-speed is hard to mess up.

Nonetheless, almost none of the indoor photos I took in Colorado were clear enough to scan. The best photos in the lot were taken outdoors.

I took this to get the effect of the mountains that are always lurking just over the horizon, but once I'd cropped my finger out of it (another peril of those little bitty disposables), I realized I really liked the composition - the sky, and the angle in the fence pointing to the tree in the middle.

The clearest of the indoor photos was this one, featuring Amy's tiger painting. Isn't she good? And this one probably worked only because the paintings were fairly well-lit.

So you don't get to see what Ysabel, Amy, or Lisa look like. On the other hand, with photos this bad, it's probably best for their reputations that you don't.
