Another page full of links which don't work anymore. Oh, well.

More stir-fried random

Today my head is full of mucus and I am desperately trying to figure out what to put in tonight's mouth organ column in my weakened state. (Work? Don't be silly. If I looked at code right now my head would explode.)

While bopping around the web, I also read journals and such, and came up with a few things I wanted to call to your attention:

I found Iain's comments on touching and being touched interesting, because I don't touch people casually and I don't like being touched. Touching, to me, is an emotional gesture; it is not done likely. In other words, if I don't touch people, it's not because I give touching no significance; it's because I give it more significance than a lot of people do. Or, at least, that's my theory.

I hate Baldwins too.

You probably already saw this. I don't want children but I play the name game all the time - for my characters. One day I will explain how and why some of my characters have their names. It will either be a fascinating insight into my brain, or a tedious one ... I have no idea which. Jessica is indeed a wonderful name. Unfortunately I have to be careful where I use it, as it happens to be the name of my sister.

By the by, I went to the link near the end of that entry, and I am happy to report that no one in my high school graduating class has posted any information on themselves. Hooray! That is exactly the way I like it. Some of it is probably because Louisiana is so web-backward, but some of it (I hope I hope) is genuine, honest apathy.

Melissa's been back for a few days and is trying to catch up. Here she writes on the pickup bar scene. You don't want to hear my thoughts on that whole avenue of life, so read hers instead. They're like mine but more polite.

This bar thing may not work for me. I don't know if I have the patience or the stamina for it. Plus I have no tolerance for stupid drunken assholes.

The answer is in the question, folks.

More later, I'm sure, but now I have to go look for a book on the Klein scale of sexual orientation. Don't ask.

Oh, by the by, did you hear that the Senate is reinstating Rule XVI? I am so happy. No more attaching anti-flag-burning riders to finance bills!
