You realize, of course, that commenting on a friend's work is a no-win situation. If you liked it, well, you're biased. If you disliked it, it may endanger the friendship. I myself am immune to the latter but highly susceptible to the former. In fact I tend to believe harsh comments and ignore pleasant ones. Call it the unrelenting pursuit of excellence. So let's say there were things I liked about the play and things I didn't like about the play, and leave it at that.
