"What's that sign at the bottom of the gangplank?" Irving asked them. "It looks like Earth writing, but I can't read it."
"It's Latin!" Marge exclaimed. "A quote from Dante, I think. The fancy big letters say 'Abandon Hope All Who Enter Here.' The standard for Hell."
"Yeah? Then what's the phrase in small letters below?"
"It says to have a nice day," Poquah told him.

As noted in today's earlier postcard, I went to see Patrick's play tonight.
You realize, of course, that commenting on a friend's work is a no-win situation. If you liked it, well, you're biased. If you disliked it, it may endanger the friendship.
I myself am immune to the latter but highly susceptible to the former. In fact I tend to believe harsh comments and ignore pleasant ones. Call it the unrelenting pursuit of excellence.
So let's say there were things I liked about the play and things I didn't like about the play, and leave it at that.
