Obviously, the remark below was written before Rob moved south.

oh, look - snow

It's snowing. I just had a long walk in it. I refuse to wear a hat because there is no hat which does not look ridiculous on me, so when I came in I looked like someone had been trying to make a Sno-Cone on top of my head. Which looks even more ridiculous. It's rough being vain in Massachusetts in winter. I usually stop trying to do anything constructive with my hair (which is disobedient at best) because as soon as I step out of my house, the gale-force winds will destroy it anyway.

Actually, although Boston can get plenty cold (mostly because of those constant winds, which verily threaten to rend the flesh from thy bones), we don't get much snow. Too coastal. This is the first real snowfall we've had this winter.

I saw a commercial for Campbell's soup the other day. A little boy loved soup, and he loved playing in the snow, but the problem was, whenever he went out to try to build a snowman after eating, he was so warm inside that the snow would melt as he handled it. This made the little boy very sad. One day he heard a mysterious voice whispering to him from the trees. The very next day, he built the best snowman he had ever made, and all thanks to the voice, which had told him:

Make the snowman before you eat the soup.

Well, I thought it was cute. Never mind, then.

I like snow. I even like driving in snow, as long as there's no one else on the road. I don't think I'd like it if I were getting the kind of snow Rob's seeing. Boston's snow level is just about right.
