but the rates stay the same
The Postal Service isn't the only place introducing a new series of stamps.
A few days back, when I griped about images for this site, I didn't actually expect anyone to come forward and provide any - it was mostly rhetoric. But to my surprise, Katharine has done so, providing not only an amazing new splash image, but a set of stamps! These are so wonderful that I can't resist putting them into circulation now, rather than waiting for a new month or a new page to start. That means the green-and-white set of stamps was used for less than two months. Oh, well - I guess it was obvious that I didn't like them very much.
Over the next few weeks, as the new stamps appear, let me know what you think. If you like them, I will pass the word along to Cat. If you don't like them ... well, I'll take note of the information, and maybe pass it along to her.
Really, I'm astonished. I think she's been studying the portrait gallery or something. The image on the top page has the facial structure common to just about everyone in my mother's family. In fact, it could very well be a drawing of my mother from her mid-twenties ... except for the eyes. My mother's are brown.
And now, having attempted to convey some small portion of the glee I am feeling because of these happy pictures, I will change to somewhat more cranky topics. But I'll start a fresh postcard to do it. Wouldn't want the two emotions to slop over onto each other - the colors go all muddy.
